From downtown Vancouver, you can easily get to Capilano Suspension Bridge in around 25 minutes. The drive is scenic and uncomplicated as most things in British Columbia tend to be.
It is relatively easy to get your tickets once there, but you can also buy your tickets online here. At 54.95 Cad for an adult ticket and 18.95 for children 6-12 (under 6 are free), its not a cheap excursion, but definitely worth the drive.
The Big Suspension Bridge
The big draw is obviously the Suspension Bridge that spans the width of the canyon. The bridge is 450 feet long and is 230 ft above the Capilano River. And of course it is a Suspension Bridge, so it does have quite a bounce. So if you have acrophobia then this may not be for you. However, having said that, I am not one with the most daring of spirits, but was still totally fine walking over and back.
Once on the other side, there is a trail to explore. Truly forest bathing at its best.
The Cliff Walk
If the bouncing bridge is too unsteady for your sensibilities, the Cliff Walk may be better suited for you. Its a 20 minutes walk on the edge of the cliff. Another way to experience the BC outdoors of forest and fauna.
Of MurphyCo Note
Max is a student at the University of British Columbia. And would definitely recommend the Canyon Lights experience when the Canyon gets lit up for the holidays. It's a cool and mindful way to experience the true little sparks of joy of the holidays. These are photos from his visit last December. Unfortunately, for 2020, like so many things, Canyon Lights is not happening. But hey bring on 2021!
